Rick, U.X.B. was a tv series about unexploded ordnance during WWII in England . U.X.B. stood for unexploded bomb and it was made in the 70's and it was very entertaining...well worth watching ..now as to the item under the mutt I believe it is the motor for the convertible top.
once the carb is rebuilt properly you dont need to run with the choke out. I put a tank liner product in my gas tank to contend with particulate corrosion. The rebuild the carb... correctly, by making sure the top of the float chamber is flat and seals well and be sure to seal around the long...
Hey Doghead, 1000 comedians are out of work and yer crackin jokes......almost wet myself, but I had the same problem.My FDC had been bypassed and it was dumping fuel in the base. I think these guys are on target....cost me $250 for a rebuild if u can't do it. Good luck
My experience with the mutts has shown the small fuel filter that screws into yhe carb is easily plugged,requiring another ,larger filter prior to that filter.When you remove the small filter and blow through it, if you have any resistance ,replace it. I eliminated many problems by doing this
