Ok.
I think I got it. The horn button has a small cup, a spring, then a large cup for contact to the steering hub, right? When I took it apart, very carefully, I found, the spring, then the small cup inside the large cup. The small cup was visible through the hole in the large cup.
Now, I...
Hello.
My Deuce has a faulty horn. It goes off at random while driving. I almost scared two pretty girls off their bicycles and into the truck.
I stopped at my Dads farm to investigate. I pulled the rubber disc off, turned the plastic disk underneath counter clockwise and pulled it off...
I reversed the tarp. I works much much better this way!
I post a picture of the proper way it should be on.
I fixed the seams that opened up with Shoo Goo from Walmart.
I cleaned the surfaces and applied the goo, then used cow magnets above and below the tarp too hold it together. No more...
I also found, after chasing snow mobiles around my Dad's farm, that the cab does move.
The linkage from the gas pedal had no spring at the end. It just had cotter pins. I grabbed some air going after the snow mobiles and when I came down, all the delicate adjustments I made to the throttle...
When people like my father in law ask: "What are you going to do with THAT thing?"
I say: "What am I NOT going to do with it."
I also makes a great entrance to my son's school when I take him in when the bus is late on snow days!:driver:
I like it too! It is an American General, 1972 M35a2 w/w
It has a rebuilt engine, new trans, new brakes, new radiator plus a lot of other stuff.
Good luck with your quest!
I use mine for all kinds of stuff!
I use it for putting in doggie fences. I pull a burying bar with the winch in hard to reach areas.
I use the battery jumper wires to inject amperage into the loop wires of the fences to fix partial wire breaks.
I disk plowed fields
I haul fire wood.
I haul my Ural Patrol motorcycle to the...
I use the Yellow Optima batteries. They seen to crank faster and have no acid to leak out or fumes to eat my metal. They have to be packed in (I used wood) but they have nothing to spill out on a hillside either. They are also very impact resistant, and can deliver more amps charging or...
Ah hah! I thought so. Now I need a throttle spring. Compression type. Where do I get one? Any suggestions?
BTW, I replaced the bolt with a grade eight cap screw with fine threads and a nylon lock nut. Should be tighter now.
I would still like to have the spring cushion in place to...
Yes, you are right. I can not see any alignment mark, but it is where it's supposed to be at the moment. Do you know of any spring assembly that is supposed to be in place?
I seem to be having trouble with my throttle linkage. I have set the adjustment screws up as per the TM. It runs fine until I do some hard riding with it. I was chasing some snowmobiles off my dad's farm and the front end caught a little air. When I shut down, it was idling at 1100 rpms. I...
Backwards! I have it on backwards? The vents are on the outside. The loops for tying up the sides are on the outside. It fits fine.
The inside is only just green, not camo.
Thanks for the info.
Where do I get the Pliobond?
Larry
I have a "new" cargo tarp and after 10 months, the seams are splitting.
I there a glue I can use to repair this before it becomes useless?
I would greatly appreciate any advice!
Thanks! 2cents
