    oil cooler lines

UPDATE (delayed but still relevant) The link Warthog provided was the lead I needed. Nalley's lines came in and were the correct fit. Truck has been solid in this category since. The problem originated with the rubber lines of course but the issue with the aluminum lines was contact with fan...

    M1009 transmission noise?

I did check TH400 Knocking Noise - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite but the situation I am observing with my M1009 might be different... maybe not. The truck has a rattle (like bolts in a coffee can) under throttle and sometimes coasting but the sounds seem to be directly underneath...

    oil cooler lines

Ziggy, NJ shipping costs put me over budget but not out of mind. I was waiting on some pictures (to help verify fit) but WARTHOGs links from earlier are first try in process now. Cost is why at about 100 shipped but until they arrive I can't rule out other options. Also I am sure that I can't...

    oil cooler lines

Still unable to locate a set of aluminum lines... Warthogs links to nalley seen not working for me today on my phone and the repair shop the CUCV is at can't find any either. I will hunt some more but any Steel Soldiers want to sell me a set? Anyone in GA have a scrap rig I can pull from? Pics...

    oil cooler lines

Warthog, I may be nuts but I want to say I remember that the CUCV lines go straight across the front of the radiatior (front bumper side) with no bends or rises. The hardest thing is ordering replacements and not knowing if the fit will be correct. Function is the only animal here I am...

    oil cooler lines

Our truck is an 86 and the rubber hoses got replaced already. The problem now is the metal lines that go across the radiator, one is worn from friction against a part of the fan enclosure... Oil everywhere :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I told my wife over the phone while I was at work...

    oil cooler lines

I sure hope i'm doing this right. Okay, here I go. Hi friends! My name's Heather and I'm Justin's wife, the handsome fella who's profile I'm using. Here's my question. Our m1009 CUCV, D10 6.2L diesel is in the shop and I'm searching for a part it needs. I'm looking for 2 metal oil cooler...

    She loves it.

:funny: Nearly the same story for my wife & I... She takes the M1009 as a daily driver and from my point of view it is really rad. She has dug the truck from day one. She'd be happy driving the wheels off the truck but ATL heat is about our only overwhelming complaint, AC conversion or CUCV...

    2011 GA Rally Buy/Sell/Trade Thread

Atlanta resident selling 86 M1009 for $2500 obo and considering trades The truck has 58,xxx miles and is my wife's daily driver. Seriously :cookoo:[thumbzup] Usual suspects in all the regular spots, no mods on this truck: 6.2 Detroit diesel with a 3 speed auto trans. 4x4 works good, cruises...

M1009 Tailgate - Body Work Question

Depending on how much rust is spread under the paint will determine your repair costs. I dont weld but I know you cant fix rust. It has to be removed and replaced. If you or a pal can do that kind of work it looks possible. An auto shop may charge you more than a replacement but either direction...

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

The M1009 and my dogs are best friends, I have two labs and they love going for rides! The 1 year old will sit in the passenger seat like he is a person, hilarious. The 5 month old still gets a little car sick but the pet friendly interior makes clean up ok. My wife actually likes...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced front brake pads for both sides... no more ringing. Rotor looked and felt smooth for 25 years. Dirty job though... 02/24/2011 update I got new tires today for the M1009. Nothing special, average priced all terrain but they look good. The 31 10.5 15 is a limited size according to the...

    Rear window crank parts???

I just installed the entire rear window crank kit from LMC this year, maybe a month ago at most, and all the parts in the section for the rear window crank are what is needed. I ended up with chrome, due to a lack of inventory at the time I ordered but it doesnt bother me. Of items 1-7 you can...

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

I have been through the same process... I even thought the low 30s here in ATL for early Feb may have been affecting the fuel since I havent been putting additive in the tank lately. I havent had any work done on the fuel system so I am sure it is original. Watch now that I have to go...

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

So since I started this thread, the very next "start-up" and every other start hasnt had the symptoms I listed... I wish that was a permanent solution.:deadhorse: I know there is still a leak because I can see fluid build up on the under carriage. I changed out the front brake pads yesterday...

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

I will have a good shot at looking over the whole engine tomorrow. I want to agree with the "leak" issue since I do notice some dark liquid spots underneath where I park the M1009. Also the starting conditions are consistent with the comments already about the fuel delivery being compromised...

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

I will check this out. I have been online most of the day researching the issue and various topics are becoming common... Any part #s for this fuel filter base would be welcome.

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

Yeah I agree on the air in the line, just didnt think past the filter for some reason I was thinking under the truck. Im sure there is a leak somewhere at this point. I have been bleeding the line, maybe once a week, during this issue and there isnt any real delay in a fuel stream so the IP is...

M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

I have been through some starting issues before, so why not something new!? Typically in the morning after the M1009 has been sitting a while, a few hours or more, the starting process is a little odd. I live in ATL and the last few tanks of gas I havent been adding anti gel... its in the 40s...
