All, I replaced the stock fuel filter on my 86 M1008. After, it appears to be leaking from the drain plug port. I know the TMs say to replace the drain plug seal. Since I did not do this I am assuming that this may be the problem. Needless to say local parts stores did not have these seals...
Job done! Brakes looked good and no leaks from the line. The metal gaskets fit great. I went with black RTV in between the metal flange gasket and the axle face. No leaks. Thanks for the tips CUCVRUS!
Getting ready to replace a leaking rear axle seal myself on an 86' CUCV. Never done one before. Any tips, tricks or watchouts? Also, I know I turn to youtube for a lot of help on the unknown. Found one decent video on a full float axle seal replacement. Any other DIY videos out there?
Thanks. Ill look into a relay. Having zero experience with relays I'll have to do some research and youtube training. Might be premature without checking but would you hook up the existing back up light wires to the relay as well to actuate the relay and the auxiliary lights or would this be...

Thanks Marcus. Pretty excited to get this M1008 up and moving. Lots of things to learn. Needless to say this site has been a blessing when it comes to figuring stuff out.
You still have pics?
I know its been a while since this tread came out but I am new to the game. Just got a M1008 and wanting to put a plow on it. Looking pretty hard at a western plow and was wondering how to wire it as well. Anything you got would be a help. Thanks.
