OK I wish I could post the page 18-24 from the tm that I have on my one post. The lock does not come out as one piece on this old of winch, the pin comes out the drum side. So I will weld this one back up or try and find an older style lock, I don't think the new style will work.
Thanks for...
OK I can't get the TM to up load that you gave, but if you go to page 18-24, mine didn't have nut #5 only knob 4 and nut 3. But from that picture it looks like the pin is removed from the drum side. I have been soaking it with pb.
Oops it did upload.
OK here are some pictures of what came off.
I tried to get it out again it will not come out, it moves in and rotates 360, but only moves out enough to disengage the drum. I'm at a loss.
Wow that is great, thanks for finding that. Now I wounder if I can use the new style lock, or weld mine up and look for an old style spare. Thanks again.
That helps, since the spring wasn't in there maybe it set back on the shoulder in the hole. Thanks again now I know where to get a pin and maybe a spring.
I do have that picture but mine didn't have the spring and I can't tell by the picture but it looks like the stud should come out with out taking anything else apart? Am I correct so I don't break anything else. Thanks Scott
OK while I was taking the nut off the threaded rod snapped, never found a spring behind the nut. Is the stud suppose to come out now, it moves 360 with vice grips on it but not in and out very well.
Hello all,
I just bought a winch off a truck that has been sitting to quite awhile and doesn't run, I didn't get a chance to look at it real good. My problem is tonight I got a chance to check it out and I can't get the drum lock latch to pull out, so I'm wondering if it is just seized in place...
