Yes. It is as far forward as possible. The tires are hitting the front of the wheel wells lol

So far these 40” Patagonia tires are great! The method rims and Patagonia tires balance very well! I feel comfortable going 80mph. But since they are a true to size 40” tire, even after doing some cutting on the wheel wells, they still rub with light flexing on light trails. This next summer I...

Couple fun pictures from a short drive last weekend.

Yes sir! I am saving up for axle gears currently. Those bigger 40” tires really changed things gearing wise By making the 6.5 feel like it does not have enough power. I think some 5.13 or 5.38 gears will fix that.

New reinforcements for the rear bumper to limit the tire carrier from sagging when swung out.

Also added a 3rd 6 degree shim on the driver side Dana 60 top of the spring to straighten out the spring plate to reduce stress on the bolts and U-Bolts. Here you can see the old bolts are bent and cracking pre 3rd shim. I’ll get those bolts replaced soon.

Just added the Diy4x.com anti wrap bar/axle truss set up. Here’s some pics. I hope it helps with the spring wrap. Sooo darn tired of the hopping when hill climbing,

After running the 37” tires and 16.5 rims for over a decade, I decided it is time to go to 40’s with new 17” beadlocks!

Yeah, she would probably hate the Blazer for life if that happened lol! My black leather bucket seats that I had years ago wore out. I found these OEM K5 Blazer seats in a junkyard about 3 years ago for only $100. I’ve been keeping my eyes out on Marketplace for a nice bench seat so I can ditch...

Got a couple more goodies on the way! Should have ordered them months ago so I could install them in time for the coming trip. https://diy4x.com/product.php?productid=17762 https://diy4x.com/product.php?productid=17743

A few years ago some cracks in the floor developed where the passenger seat bolts to. I don’t want the wife’s butt falling out of the Blazer floor, as hilarious as it would be, still would not be good. I asked our shop welder if he wanted to make some extra side cash and he was more than willing...

Thanks for the info. I’ll for sure invest in those brackets sometime after the trip next week. Speaking of which, here’s photos of gear I always take with me. A good friend of mine once asked why I take soooo much stuff. So I took his advice one trip and we went wheeling in Moab and he broke...

Last night I replaced the leaking driver side valve cover gasket. It was leaking so bad that I thought it was coming from the oil cooler lines at first because the oil was going down the motor onto the oil cooler fittings. I used a cork gasket and the right stuff this time to hopefully seal it...

Yes sir! There is a small noticeable difference with less vibration at idle and while driving. More noticeable with the downshifts and up shifts. Feels more firm. Most of the drivetrain vibrations got fixed with the ORD motor mounts. Darn it! I had 2 of those! I think I sold one for $200 and...

Going threw the todo checklist making the M1009 ready for the Moab trip planned the end of this month, I installed a new set of polyurethane transmission cross member bushings, got the front driveshaft refurbished and a spare front driveshaft made.

This weekend I installed an Alpine F511 Halo floating Din Stereo. My old radio worked great but… I want apple car play, better equalizer adjustments, navigation and modernization. I think it looks pretty darn cool! I also picked up some JL audio 12” subs with box at a pawn shop for a fairly...
