Man, I really do love the look of desert tan on these trucks. If my truck didn't have a $1600 paintjob, I'd probably paint mine desert tan as well. But I'm enjoying my all black stealth theme.

I rewired my blower motor switch. I used a 3-way switch as the replacement and installed it next to the volt meter. I left the original intact, for aesthetics. I also painted the trim around the gauges on the instrument cluster, to continue the black/orange theme. The rest of the dash will...

Hmm... that's true, both Optimas can fit on one tray. Maybe I should do that. I never thought of that before.

^ Wow that's pretty cool. What do you run on the tablet while you're in the truck?

I tried that, and it didn't hold up for very long. Using 1/8 on the injectors is a really tight fit, but it works. And you can use 1/8 without clamps.

Replaced the fuel drainback tubing today. I used 1/8 tygon from a local hardware store. $5 for 5 feet of it. Done deal. And another thing I did today... Ebenezer has gone topless!

Painted the outline of the bowtie on my truck's grill. I used Chevy orange paint. Next step is to paint the blackout and slave port black, so it matches the rest of the truck.

I fixed my leaking fuel problem. Drove the piss outta Ebenezer tonight. :driver:

Mine does. It won't shift into 3rd until about 50-55. At that point, it kicks like a pissed off mule. My vacuum lines are old and leaking too, so I know that will help.

Check the vacuum hoses going to the modulator, if you haven't already

I got the new pump push rod in, and now the truck runs. But it looks like I have a few fuel injectors that are leaking. Eugh. I'm guessing the increased fuel pressure caused them to show? I cracked the injectors a while ago to bleed out the system, but I tightened them up and I'm still getting...

Made an interesting discovery regarding my fuel pump problem. Made a new thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?103988-More-fuel-pump-woes

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Like I was saying, I had a funnel inserted into the rubber hose going into the fuel pump inlet. I filled it up with fuel, turned it over and it didn't take any of the fuel in. The pump is obviously not pumping. I'll have to pull it off and see if the pushrod isn't installed right, or if the pump...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

The low tonight is 21 degrees. In Tennessee. I'm so over this cold weather crap. There was a time where I enjoyed it. But after spending 10 weeks in Fort Sill in the middle of the winter, my opinion changed a bit. The rest is history. All I ask is for a few more feet of garage, so I can at...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Diagnosing my fuel delivery problem a little more... I still haven't gotten the air out of the system yet. I went and bought a Pittsburg brake bleeder pump from Harbor Freight to suck some air out, but the **** thing is garbage right out of the box. It holds no vacuum at all. I've tried it on...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I made sure the rod was completely recessed up in the block. I used grease to hold it in place. I had to turn the crank a bit also, to get the new pump to fit properly. I'm certain it's not the install. But, I do think that the pump is still bone dry. I have a couple of things I'm gonna try this...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I made another attempt to bleed the fuel system... no luck. Just turning over and over. I cracked the injectors overnight and they are all damp with fuel, but it still won't start. I'm not getting any fuel flow through the filter.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Well, I think it should take me no time to have fuel flow from the drain tube. But I installed the new mechanical pump bone dry, and I suspect that there is still no fuel flowing through the pump. My line of thinking is if I fill the pump with fuel (with said baster or something of the sort)...
