I changed my fuel filters the other day, then filled up my tank with black diesel:-D Checked fluids, topped up power steering and brake fluid... Where did my brake fluid go? Other than that it is running good.

Truck died on the road today for real. Fuel problem not pushing enough, filter not bleeding, poor return out of ip. Ended up putting the ip fuel line into a bottle of motor oil and driving home. Time for a electric LP, and replace any rubber i havent yet, also have to figure out a air leak on...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Truck almost died today! Cruising down the highway lost all power, truck barely would do 55, 45 up hills. I felt very unsafe. Was nearly 30 miles from home, on the way to meet up for a cl deal. Made it there, and got to work pumping out a heating oil tank, loaded my truck and headed home. Ran...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Had a slow drip of oil that escalated the other day. Turns out it is Diesel. Look under the intake and the valley was wet wet. Didnt want to, but i pulled the intake to get a better look, found that i could easily snug the top lines, so i removed them and tightened the bottom lines, the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I ran it for 4 or so tanks of over 50% wmo, even up to 100% Wmo. it was thinned with gas first, and filtered through 4 times. Then i took it apart to do overhaul and found all my injectors looking like yours. My camera is missing, but your pics are a match. I am going to try running 50/50...

Had it apart for over a week. Took everything bolted to the block off:shock: Installed new Cloyes timing chain, Atp harmonic balancer. Sealed that up and did A RP head studs with fel-pro gaskets (Bought engine seal kit for 60! Would use Victor Reinz if i go in again). Installed new Bosch india...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Isn't it nice when your CUCV doesnt need anything? I made it 6 months without any repairs, it was a pleasant surprise. And the premium AAA is great for buying cars, i think the towing distance is 50 miles or something i have used it several times, just bring a plate to throw on whatever you are...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Brackets are complete, air filter has 1 screw that is stripped and it hums, I know my truck and the noises, i appreciate the ideas but it is going to come apart. Also i am sure the chain is stretched because stretched chain = retarded pump= white smoke Its time for some work, so i might as well...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Driving around today i could hear a noticeable noise right above idle, but not at idle and not when driving. Poked around under the hood and revved it, sounds like my timing chain is slapping around. Tried advancing the pump a hair to clea up the massive amounts of smoke i've been making(also...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Today my truck shifted from 1 gear to 3rd gear. By the time i realized what happened, it was downshifting into 2nd gear. Checked my trans fluid and it was barely above the twist at the end of the stick. Added almost 2 quarts to get it up to proper level:shock: I think that is the cause of my...
