Actually changing the brushes and bushings and a few other items just to get a starter barely working is a "rebuilt" starter. It often has a few days warranty or none. It often works a while then fails. You might get a good one occasionally.

I add Power Service diesel additive every time I fill up year around. I use winter formula in the cold months to prevent gelling. Good for the injection pump and injectors both. Also runs a little quiter.
My M1031 with hay bed recently rolled over odometer too and I put 90,000 miles of those on it! Also have a 1980 C20 Chevy that has rolled over the odometer 5 times!
Looks like GM Camper Special mirrors. You can pull the mirrors inside the mounts and then rotate the mirror 180 degrees to make them narrower. They are then inside the extended mount arms.
Keep in mind that some rebuild shops might replace just one failed part and the starter will work for a while. I believe this to be the main cause of some rebuilt starters only working for a short time. Sometimes you get lucky and one will work a long time. Every component needs to be checked...
Try to find an ACDELCO remanufactured 24 volt direct drive starter. ACDELCO starter reman by ACDELCO. If you can not find one buy a good used one and have it remanufactured by a reputable starter shop. These are available on ebay at times. Sometimes you can buy a reman gov surplus starter that...
