The 10 ton has 3 front differentials. One in the middle and another reduction unit at each front wheel. The torque is multiplied at the wheel so the front axle assembly doesn't have to be as heavy and you gain increased ground clearance. Also, at a certain point, you just spin the wheels. That point depends on how much weight is on the tire. There's only 7 or 8 tons on the front axle whereas, if you are dragging around an M60, you'll have about 20 tons on each of the rear axles. That's why the rears are so huge.
