So Carnac, you can tell the mileage ? By a log book from each vehicle when in service?

The log books are probably trash by now.


Even with a rebuild, did they take into account the previous miles to come up with a correct total?

Depends on if the mechanic inputting the data...bothered to enter that info. Frankly, doubt it.

I was hoping to see if you could dredge up the salient details of the M35A2 I have waiting for my EUC and this hold deal to clear. The details are

Unsure of registration number

Bought (and currently still at): Frankfort Ky
Bumper markings: 35I over 1/149I on passenger side and HQ36 on driver's side

Thank you for the look-up. I just sent a donation as requested. One more question though, GL has the truck listed as an American General (manf code 81349 on the invoice) but the manufacture code you listed below is for Jeep. When I looked on the driver's side frame for the serno the one I listed below is what I'm 99% sure I saw but there is a possibility that I'm an idiot and the second to last digit was a 3 and not an 8. I didn't see a ID plate anywhere on the truck and the NSN I got from the GL invoice, (are the NSN's unique to that truck or they for all 35's in general?). Would SERNO 053913639 make more sense? Sorry but I'm quite confused.... Thank you again for the hook-up.

The NSN would be the same for all M35A2 with winch models. The SN and Reg Num would change and be unique. As previous stated numerous times before only the SN is important as that is your VIN. The registration num does not have a direct civi equivalent and is basically for historical purposes at this point.

Kaiser Jeep became Jeep became American Jeep became AM General back in the 1971 period. There was a thread about this done by DDoyle a long time back. So name changed, crap stayed the same.

a. 12514946 (I think there is supposed to be a "0" in front of the 125). The data plate stamping begins at 125.
b. Registration number is painted over, cannot read it.

Clinto thinks this should be a Kaiser-Jeep but GL said this was a General Products Division truck. He also thinks the 0125 serial # is '66 or '67 so that should be right. The data plate is for a Deuce with a winch and you can see where the PTO handle used to come through the floor for the PTO.
