BTW- I know you also said you know of a possible set on a parts truck in a yard somewheres north? of us - but I thought I would post here just to see if someone has an extra laying around.

Boom supports will interchange. The ones for the 5 tons are expandable, the ones for the M108 are not. My M108 came with both but I kept the originals. The expandable ones are much more versatile.
