It is going to rain for sure this weekend now. I pulled the hard top off the M715 this evening. They say no rain until maybe Sunday and I plan to drive home after dark Saturday. What could go wrong?
Ha, that reminds me of driving my M715 topless through Prescott, AZ. A freak storm hit and I got soaked. I’ll tell you the story this weekend!

Work delays will have me missing the event this year. Hope to meet all of y'all out there next time. Have a fun and safe weekend! Looking forward to seeing pictures of the event.

Well the HET and I are sitting at the gate (actually I’m at the gate and the HET is across the road since he doesn’t have room in front of the gate ;) )

What a great time Friday and yesterday! I enjoyed visiting with old friends and making some new ones. This event is one of my favorite annual events, life has kept me from enjoying it to the fullest the last two years.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year!

Yikes, it has taken me 3 weeks to post pictures and videos from the rally! There's no excuse for that!

Let's start with pictures of the camp site:

(From left to right) Barrman in the M715; Then nofearnohope, mkcoen and m715mike in our civy vehicles
My Deuce lost a hard break line right before the rally and was sidelined that weekend.

Barrman's m715:

mkcoen had a really neat rooftop tent!

Texas30cal and Joe (not sure if Joe is on SS) brought their Deuces:

Trailboss came-in from Louisiana:

Vern (not sure if he is on SS) came-out in the Bobber:
He's done some really nice upgrades since I last saw his truck!

putz273 drove his Peterbilt to the rally pulling the M1000 with his M1070 loaded on the M1000:

OL AG '89 camped in style:
His CUCV has pulled a 5-ton out of the mud for fuzzytoaster, but I didn't see OL AG '89 use the CUCV to tow his camper...

Kvrazelm923 brought two of his trucks to the rally:

Pistolnut was also there in his civy, but I didn't get a picture of it.

Give me a few minutes.... I've got more to post...

The Convoy....
On Saturday, we have a police-escorted convoy from the Brazos Valley Offroad Ranch (where we camp) to the Museum of the American G.I. Our rally is timed each year to coincide with the Museum's annual living history weekend. After spending several hours at the Museum, we convoy back to play at the Offroad Ranch.

Here's a quick video of us getting ready for the convoy:

At the Museum of the American G.I.

My general observation at the Museum was that there were only a fraction of the vendors we've seen in prior years. However, I believe the living history camps were a lot better this year. (Note, I had to leave the Museum early and didn't get a lot of pictures of the living history camps.)

Each year, the Museum sets aside space for our group to park (and display our MVs). Here is our group lined-up at the Museum:

Here is a video taken from the front of the Museum. There is a lot of activity on the side and back that is not included in this video:

And lastly, some pictures of the vehicles on display at the Museum:

The HET!

First, I want to thank Mitchell Putz for letting us enjoy his big truck! I had a blast, and the HET made my weekend!

So back at the ranch, Kvrazelm923 was sizing things up....
Camp_2.jpg

I learned that one feels mighty powerful at the winch controls of a M1070!

And then... the M1070 went off-roading!!!!
(Okay, this video really does not do justice to the size of hills...)

Lastly, I understand there was a bit of a SNAFU Sunday morning when loading the Peterbilt on the M1000 for the trip home. But I'll let putz273, Texas30cal or nofearnohope tell that story.
