Anyone use one of these in the 24V version?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
I know this does you no good but several years back I picked up a CME Arma rebuilt 28MT at the GA Rally for under a hun. It sits patiently waiting for the china copy to give up the smoke but it just keeps working.I wish I could find one..domestic made. They spin faster with less current draw. I have the bracket.
The big benefit is half the weight.
The local auto electric shop ordered my 28MT.. no idea where it came from. They use the same supplier for the starter and they haven't had any issues with them. My 86 M1008 has a 28MT 12 volt version and it works just fine, just doesn't turn the engine as fast as the 24 volt version.I have one on order..back order. But with employee discount, under $100. Anyone have experience with DB Electrical?
I wish someone could figure out why my 27MT kept eating up a bendix. It had all of the correct 24V parts, just couldn't get a bendix to last. The slow ship from China arrived, I have a new 28MT for under $100. Now to install it. Yes, I have the bracket.
Guess I should order the 27MT overhaul parts now?
We all love how fast the 24V 27MT turns over the engine. If your fuel and glow plug systems are working as they should, any starter will fire up an engine real quick. My 86 M1008 has the 12V conversion and a 28MT 12V starter. It starts just as fast as my 85 M1008 with the 24V 28MT starter. The Taiwan 28MT came with a test sheet, 5.23 kW is over 7 horse power. Now to get a round tuit..
I put a DB electrical starter on my 1028. It lasted less than a year on a truck that dosen't get driven every day, or even every week. I'd stay away.I have one on order..back order. But with employee discount, under $100. Anyone have experience with DB Electrical?
