Today I noticed I cannot hit enter, to move my cursor down to the next line. Still having that issue.

Again, I feel as though your issues are related to java on your PC and perhaps security settings. The quick reply window is all ajax based. What happens when you go to advanced reply?

I haven't tried the advanced reply.

I noticed a couple of oddities today with my computer(after an update last night and a update this AM.

one thing was an "x" on the right side of the user name text box, while I was logging on to my mail and this site. Also, an eye, in the password text box, as I entered text.

I just did a system restore before the updates, and I think I'm back to normal, as you can see by the fact that I have entered multiple lines of text.

Also, the x and eye did not appear as I logged in this last time.

You could go into updates and select updates individually. If you think that it was an IE update install everything but those and try it again. Then try IE updates. So long as you have a restore point you can recover from your testing.

Switch to Chrome.....
