ok, but you are wrong, sorry. It is not "in the shifter"

In 4l80es, the NSS is on the driver side of the transmission. It is a large black component with a large electrical connector or several I have owned several, and had similar issues. Limp mode can be enabled with a fault in this switch. Safety thing, go figure.

Further @Mogman.........if you know the NSS is not the culprit, then what would solve the OPs issue?
You have owned several on HMMWVs? I have never seen that switch on a HMMWV, but I don't get to play with the latest (ECV/REV) trucks

I am 100% wrong, yet almost right.
I see you are one of those folks. Again, what knowledge so far has been conveyed to the OP, by you to solve this issue........enough such that you are 100% certain, than my suggestion is shit and clearly wrong?

I also see you are a moderator btw, but the question still stands.

I only want to get the correct information out there to help folks in need.
NO HMMWV ever had an ODB-II, they use the same transmission and TCM configuration that was used on the 6.2L mechanically injected non ECM vehicles before the mid 90s.

Again I ask have you seen that NSS switch on a HMMWV?

And yes I admit when I am wrong.
