If it were me, I wouldn't be puttting evaporust there. Don't get me wrong it has its merits, but my concern is future corrosion and impact to the windings. It has some rather interesting ingredients.

If it were me, I would put a few drops of something like PBblaster at the joint, and wait 24 hours, and then I would try a few gentle taps tangentially to the rotor to break the corrosion before trying to pull coaxially.

I was able to get it off with some careful mallet and large socket application. It was just stuck on a rust ring on the end bearing. Couldn't tell from the manual that the exciter ring was bolted to the end bell cover. I'm gonna leave that alone for now. End bearing actually sounds and moves like brand new. Crazy for being the age it is.

I am surprised they used zip ties for these rotor windings. I wonder the justification behind that versus paper or string. I wouldn't have let that on one of my projects at work, but they seem to have held up
