ifff your going to be off road.... those air lifts beams on the sides may be good for pulling a laying down elephant of truck, back on its's wheels. I have a 3rd winch that am going to have a receiver mount plate made up to slide into whichever one I need, if my twuck decides to do the sleeping elephant thing.

But beside that.. its not of any other real value.. look close though. If I am not mistaken; is not some of the spare tire carrier, mounted to it too? I could be wrong

Yes. Everything thru there bolts to the lifting brace and the rear brace. So I'm leaving both sides but cutting 9" out of the middle. It won't be able to be used as a vertical lift. The girth of it is obviously to withstand the inward pinch the lifting cable regardless of whether a spanner is used.

The amount of metal and bolts attaching it to both the lower and upper frames on both sides is enough to still use it as a side winch point. The lower brace under the trans, connecting both sides, can remain.

Lots of work but most of that was building all my heat shields. this seems very workable....

Flange welded back up. SS welding is the most fun. I went heavier than needed. 1 pass was probably enough. 3 starts to look globby

Another mock up, as I'm awaiting a flex pipe which will go in the horizontal section after the first 90. There's a mast brace missing in these photos but it looks promising. The Top is 12" above the roof rack. Things are Mostly square lol. I need to find a heat shroud that's not a bank breaker.

Does anyone know what standard T# size the 3126 turbo is? I'm trying to find a turbo blanket and they are sold in T3,T4,T5..etc size designations. I saw some online references to T3 for the 3126 but internet references are unreliable.

I ordered a T6 based on what an Amazon seller said would fit and it was too big, so it is likely a T4. I have a C7, but I believe the turbo is the same size as the 3126. I just found this but haven't put a tape on mine yet:

Our turbo (3126/C7) is a Borg Warner S300 (made for CAT) and my spare M-ATV turbo (370 HP C7) is a T3 flange but based on that chart it's a 7 cm thick turbine housing so I guess a T4 blanket?

ThermoTec has 2 products, one is T3/T4 sized and the other is T5/T6 sized.


ThermalZero has a different blanket for T3 vs a T4 with price reflecting the difference

I finally received the flex tube so was able to fully assemble the new pipe. I repurposed the heat shield from the muffler, and little bracket from the end hanger on the old pipe. It's good luck, plus I'm running out of steel. Still need 3 more heat blankets and some pipe wrap to protect everything above the transmission. This is a big project. The final pipe length is exactly 10' of linear run from the pac brake flange weld, with 180 deg of total bend. The old pipe is about 12' of length from that weld, with 360 deg of total bend plus the muffler 90. I put a bracket right at the trans mount for emotional security, which is where the old one was.

Kept the caution label, superstition:

I put in the cheaper PTP blanket, non split version. The post that mounts the gate valve is a little in the way but it still fits.

I put a second blanket over the whole assembly too

Since I deleted a whole bunch of stuff on that side, reattaching the control valve assembly needs some thought. Can I just bolt it to the bed frame? Added the elbow heat shield. $30 stainless part relic on eBay. Now I can attach the vertical heat shield. One more bracket for the hydraulic valve block and then I can roll out

Bracket #8 on this journey. Hydraulic valve and hand pump secured. 😛bracket & sons corp.

This needs a home now. It's a Harry Potter box. As you enter the small door the interior becomes huge. Maybe that Ecuadorian family needs a shoe box.
