Thought they were being held back due to the Ukraine situation?

Bet it doesn't go cheap considering it's very clean and there have been so few decent ones lately. Seems to have the wtec3.

Wow! Super clean. That one will go high. 944 miles!

Earlier A1R with the low pinion rear axle. No battery drawer either.

Looks like it was even serviced in '22!

Last one I saw sell on the civilian side went for $55k or so. Wasn't that nice but was a 2008 high pinion truck.

Nice clean truck, it is interesting to see all the small differences between this one and the 2008 models. A lot of M1079s seem to get very little use, mine only had 300 miles on it when it was put up for surplus and when I got it there was paperwork inside it indicating that it had only been used for a single training exercise to haul the soldier's duffel bags. Nothing was ever mounted in the box.

My 1997 donor M1079 was definitely used with 10k miles paperwork showing sowing it was in Kuwait. It even saw action, It has a bullet wound or a grazing from a Ak47 round. 1730543719537.jpeg

We left it there during the paint prep work. So it’s still there. The angle and direction it came from just missed the top of the cab.
The inside of the box looked like they had a rage party with hammers and chains…..dents everywhere by the hundreds. Took over a month and 2 gallons of bondo to smooth everything out for painting.

a grazing from a Ak47 round. Thats hard one to prove.

The diameter matches, and hopefully it wasn’t friendly fire. But that’s my best guess given the circumstances.
I once had a USMC M998 that had multiple bullet holes through the floor board...from the inside out! Well, that is what I suspected based upon the size and look of the exit hole. No real way for me to be sure. I also had an M1045 that had holes going into the door right above the supplemental armor where it meets the kevlar. They, too, looked like bullet holes.

My 2006 1083 has the same WTEC-III as well. I'm also missing the battery tray and 260 amp alternator as well. Interesting...
They added those upgrades in 07'. Of all the A1R models it seems the 05' ("buyback" A0 upgraded to A1R trucks) are the roughest and WTEC-III, 06' they got the basics down, and 07'+ they standardized all the upgrades. I'm sure the cut of dates between production batches very too.

What's the trick getting a 2006 insured?
Lots of people use Progressive or other insurance companies. They are often insured as self-built RV's, etc. my 2008 is insured through my business carrier under a declared value policy. You just have to call around and find an agent that is willing to write the policy. Virtually all the insurance companies have one way or another to be able to do it - most people get rejections because the representative they speak with doesn't know how, doesn't understand what it is, and is unwilling to investigate it. Mostly it's just people not wanting or knowing how to do their job or they aren't sure so they just say they can't and move on to easier problems they know how to solve.

I already checked with Nationwide & Progressive, which I guess go through Hagerty for demil. I was told it had to be 20 years or older, and could not take it offroad. I'd hate to have the winning bid tomorrow only to find out I can't insure it.
Is it a matter of how I word it to the agent?
Do I need to register it at the DMV a specific way? I assume "RV" but this is my first experience with a demilitarized vehicle.
It will be used as a camper, include "offroad use"
