Is it possible to switch out the military seats for after market seats? Would a comfy car seat fit in the space available? Has anybody done this? if yes, can you please share pictures? Thanks in advance.

Just finished replacing all 4 of my seats last night. I'll post some pics for you later tonight.

Auctionaddict has some neat seats in one of his HMMWVs. But I don't recall what they're out of. They were some sort of MRAP though as I recall. Much more comfortable than the stock pincushions.

I installed 4 of these. They were described as MRAP seats and are quite a nice upgrade. The seats can move front to back and the seatback inclines/declines. Sorry for just the one picture. The lighting in my garage is terrible and the pictures are not coming out great. I'll snap some more off in the morning.

We all do. But as long as you're not too tall, you can move the seat a few clicks forward and recline it pretty good.

How involved is it to remove the original style driver seat frame and replace it with the newer high back frame/mount.? I've considered going with different seats, and the driver seat is my only hesitation.

Very easy... just 4 bolts. You'll need a 1/2" socket and 1/4" Allen wrench. Slide the seat all way back and unscrew the front bolts. Slide the seat all the way forward and undo the rear bolts. Or do it in the reverse order. Does not matter.

Done.

The front seats are easy to remove... But if you have the old drivers seat base, you will have to take out the rivets.

That's the old drivers seat base.

I have the cold weather top stuff minus the doors but the regular doors work fine. Unless you are short you cant see out the door windows anyways they are too low.

Mine came from Suprman, but I got his last set of doors. Top and rear curtain are going on this weekend. Just need some pipe insulation.

I actually just got some of the Smittybilt Standard Buckets delivered and I am in the process of trying to get them in.

The issue that came up is the angle of the seat back. The HMMWV high back seats are nearly vertical, while the Smittybilts have an angle of recline to them. So the back of my seat hits the seatbelt reel on the b pillar and I can't get the seat far enough back.

So my question to you guys who put aftermarket seats in, what did you do with your seatbelts in your set up, or did your seats work fine with the location of the reel.
I'm brainstorming on where to relocate my reel too, but I am open to other ideas as well.
