how's the clearance with the new alternator between it and the cab?
Any pictures with the new alternator mounted?
I'm seriously considering the 24 volt alternator swap but I also have to figure out how to remount my AC compressor. I made these modifications in April 2016. Way before any one had the original brackets for the driver side.

The axis of the alternator moves in towards the engine ~3". This 150A has the same pad mount boss' as the 110A but the housing is bigger in diameter by about 1-1/2". Still room to spare between the block.

The 110A unit is inboard of the frame and clears the mud flap and cab frame. I won't switch out to the 150 unless the 110 burns out. So figure another 3/4" sticking out to the right in the first photo. Seems to me that an ac compressor bracket could bolt over the padmount easily looking at the first picture.

Yes this adapter plate comes off

This base plate is part of the base 3126 engine. I believe it has its own Cat part #. It's curved for a reason

@MatthewWBailey thank you very much for sharing all the pictures.

Looks like the Pad being standard opens up a path for many alternatives.
I'm personally looking to fit a BLP4112M or BLP4110M or a Delco 55SI

The Leece Neville can be easily converted to external regulator allowing to charge other battery chemistries. In the future I want to convert all batteries to LIFEpo4 or other similar SolidState battery.

Sure thing. Would love to see what you do there

Following the dimensions from Leece Neville BLP4110M and using a Caterpillar 211-7871 as a reference for the bracket. It looks like the BLP4110M will fit fine.
See pictures below for reference

If anybody wants to double check the solidworks drawings I can share.

What about the overall length? Will the regulator end interfere with the turbo intake?
You are right, it does hits the turbo intake, which I believe it could be modified to allow a little bit more clearance. Currently it needs a 2.5 inch spacer to clear the Turbo Intake, however I feel that would make it hit the the cab (n) when the cab comes down.

The Cat cradle fits the alternator perfectly.(y)
I'm not sure the turbo hose can be moved 1" 3/8 to the left to clear the alternator. Does anyone knows ?

I will try to make spacer or see how the much space can be taken from the turbo to see if it clears the cab.
