Anti-theft measures?

Hello all -- I won the M1165a1 below at GP this week and am taking the opportunity before it arrives to pick up some parts. From the various forums and FB groups, it appears that there is a lot of junk out there, and so I was hoping to hear what parts/companies this group has had good experience with in terms of locking door handles, keyed ignition (or keyed switch attached to the starter switch in lieu of a keyed ignition), and anything else I should be thinking about. I did find an anti-theft thread on this forum from a while back, but it dealt with long-term measures while the owner was deployed. My truck will be garaged for the most part, so I'm really thinking along the lines of securing it when it's in a parking lot while I'm inside a store. Many thanks in advance.

I installed a keyed disconnect for mine, the disconnect itself is right next to the transmission diagnostic port by the doghouse

(not my picture, but I don't feel like putting on shoes at the moment)

Is that a battery disconnect or a switch that opens up one of the wires on the starter dial?

Edit: Never mind, just read the link. Sorry.

The easiest thing to do is to break the #11A lead to the START / RUN switch with another simple switch that can be placed almost anywhere. It could be just a toggle switch or a key switch in an out of the way location. I've seen them placed in a panel to the left of the dash, in the hole where the fording valve lives, in the transmission tunnel by the STE/ICE connector and back in the B pillar behind the drivers seat. If your handy electrically you could break the power wire that runs to the control box. There are infinite possabilities. One of the slickest setups I've seen is a proximity switch that needs to see a small fob in your pocket before it will pass power to the start circuits.

IMO, Not a fan of mounting switches on the tunnel or horizontal surfaces. When Mr. HumV takes a bath... things can get real wet.

Rub a dub, CAMO
I'm not either, but there aren't a lot of good options. The kit I linked is supposed to be installed where the fording valve goes, if you don't have the fording kit.

The Tile device with the free app is a cheap version of Lojack.

A vehicle lock holding the shifter in "Reverse" will prevent ignition and theft.

Angry dogs and such are great deterrents too. ;-)

This might help. I installed it and it's awesome!

Is there a way to temp disable the RFID key fob? I'm thinking of car shows where I'm near the HMMWV.. I don't want some to start playing with the run switch and it allowing the start cause the key fob would be in my pocket.

Otherwise it looks pretty cool. I'd seen it advertised before, but the youtube video explains it far better than their webiste.

I’m really happy with my Black Dog fuel cut off switch. I’m the only one who knows where it is and it would be almost impossible to find it in a reasonable amount of time. It was like 69.00 and it seems to be good quality. I like that fancy key fob but it does the same thing as my switch.
