I used the Behr on this M971 trailer two Colorado winters ago. It is holding up remarkably well. the black and brown are the colotrs I applied. The trailer originally was just solid OD green and the older color as you can see in the picture. I am planning to put the CARC 383 formulla on the trailer to get the trailer to match the M818. The stuff sure is easy to handle and clean up.

Awesome job! I like the sharp lines on your camo.

Chalked the pattern then days of 1/4" modelers brush outlining the patterns then roller for the big areas believe it or not. Roller put down a nice even texture and color. The big patterns went on quick and easy.

I'll be painting my 1009 with this same paint. My MV budget isn't much bigger than a piggy bank right now, but it's growing. The pictures posted here of vehicles painted with the Behr look outstanding! And the price can't be beat. Just wondering, does Behr have a "name" for each of the woodland camo colors on their color chart, or will the store require codes like the ones for the mixtures mentioned? Thanks again!

These are ALL color matched colors. There is NO short code or color names on record with Home Depot. They will need to manually type in the formula for each color.

Thank you! I see the 383 posted that would be the green right? Where can I find the formula for the brown in woodland camo? Also, is the black special, or just pick the best black?

Paint for MV projects

Good information on paint etc. All good questions and answers on this thread. Thanks everyone. wsucougarx, we will be in your neck of the woods around the first of April coming up the coast thru Oregon. Probably Reedsport and Newport and then to a small town named Drain in Oregon Also going to our campground ( RV Park ) to Dow Creek above Hoodsport just a little way from Lake Cushman above the Hood Canal west of Seattle. Drain is near I-5 and am going to visit an Army buddy that I havn't seen since 1967 in Tacoma where he was from. I was stationed at Fort Lewis and getting ready to go to Fort Richardson, Alaska. We were in basic together in Fort Ord, CA in Aug of 65. He was home on R&R from Viet Nam and was in the 173d Airborne Brigade ( SEP ) .He is also in elk country. We only found each other last year over the internet. It's been 44 years since we've seen each other. Should be fun!! Well I'm convinced that my deuce "CHEECHAKO" is getting a new paint job when we get back home next spring. elkhunter

I just scrubbed the trailer with a Dawn dish washing soap and water solution and put the paint on. The Behr I used was the primer and paint in one. A little more expensive but its holding up good.

I am going to have to use some bondo once I pull some dents on the 1009 and what not. How do I replicate the texture of the CARC without the bondo sticking out like a sore thumb?

Thanks!

I'm thinking this is the way to go for painting the m810 box, can you roll it on to, or is spraying the better way to go?

Here is Wayne/pinz25086 formula for Desert Tan

Lowes - Base = Valspar Exterior Flat Finish - Flat Base 4

101 - 7.5
104 - 5.5
107 - 29.5
113 - 2Y7

I typed this out on wordpad real quick. Save as a DOC file so the forum will upload it. BEHR matched to Aervoe 24087. I felt this would reduce some of the "how do I post this code properly". Print it out and take it to depoty.

Gentlemen, I'm undecided as to what to do after watching this thread. I have access to CARC that was left over after a buddy repainted about 40 dueces for the military; or should I go with the Behr paint? I had Home Depot mix me a sample of each green and the black. It appeared to me that the green was a bit darker than I cared for but I suspect that the paint dept. guys may have made a mistake since I provided them with the formula posted here for a gallon.

Descissions/descissions what do I do?:lost:
