Mine was in terrible shape. You can tell it’s a patch, but it looks just fine.Thats an approach I never thought of. I have a M1102 cover that could benefit from that approach. Its 90% together but has tons of little gaps or holes scattered across it.
Great information. Help up to heat and rain. Awesome! On that note, I had a cargo cover that was worn to threads in parts. I painted up to the threads, then I wet a bedsheet with paint and laid it across the damaged area. Then rolled paint across the edges to make sure it sealed.
It has held up for 5 years and many 100’s of miles.
Did you brush on or spray? Looks great!I had never used Behr paint until today. I am getting along on my M37 restore and decided to add the two rear bumpers. They have been primed for over a year.
Normally I use CGI paint and thin it to spray it. I do a fog coat and a second coat to paint. Stay in one spot too long and you get a nasty run.
I got a gallon of marque paint and flotrol. I decided what the heck I will take my larger opening HVLP sprayer I use for primer and use that.
I dumped some paint into a glass jar, added some flotrol and stirred it up. It still looked too thick to me.
It did great I am amazed. It’s more like adding a coating than painting. No runs even though I was hosing it down.
That was sprayed out my normal cup sprayer.Did you brush on or spray? Looks great!
.That was sprayed out my normal cup sprayer.
It sprayed great for a while and then was just spitting. Then I realized I had forgotten to turn on the compressor and had run out of air. Whoops!
With the air back on it was good again.
.This is what I am using now. Has worked great! Cheap and dirty! No compressor.
