Choctow H-140 Heater parts needed

GFCI Tripping with H140 Heater

My buddy and I both have Choctaw H140 Heaters and confirm that they both were tripping a GFCI breaker. We are using to heat our pole barns which code required all outlets to be GFCI protected since we are on concrete floors.

So it really would be better to fix the issue with the heater.

My buddy's friend is an electrician and figured out which were the "ground bleed" circuits.

I attach a picture of inside my control panel. In the lower right corner are two white cylinders (there are most likely resistors or capacitors). If you disconnect these from the terminals that they are connected to and tape them off, the unit no longer trips the GFIC and operates properly.

My friend figured out there are several ground bleed circuits.

Underneath your control panel look for the two white cylinders that jumper from the terminal blocks to the ground. Disconnect these from the terminal blocks and unit will not trip GFCI anymore. Mine now works fine.

NSN = National Stock Number - this is the military's part number
TM = Technical Manual (these contain troubleshooting, repair and parts information)
Download TMs here: https://www.logsa.army.mil/etms/index.cfm, search for H-140 in the title
Find NSN (or manufacture's part number if it's there)
Then cross NSN to other parts numbers --> I like to use www.wbparts.com
Then go to your FLAPS = Favorite Local Area Parts Store to buy part.
Your part number for the filter is R20P --> crosses to NAPA 3614
The base number is RK22350-02 --> it doesn't cross to much else --> it shows up all over the internet
And the entire fuel filter assembly is 230R --> it doesn't cross to much either bit it's all over the internet for purchase.

TWO H-140 heaters...

I have a Chotaw H-140 also and I have been looking for the fuel pump. The training manual has all of the parts except for the pump itself. They reference every part to and from the pump but not the pump???

Yes, I think there's a little confusion there. The pump and it's bits are in the -24P TM. The WP to replace it is in the -14 TM. Attached are the two pages that contain the pump. A quick internet search of part number "J6BC-325-3" should provide joy.
