I see that the harness that goes from the on/off temp switch on the right rear cylinder head on my M1008 is fried.
I decided to apply 12V with a small jumper to the cold start idle solenoid to see if it works. It activated it, but it also made the relay on the firewall (Glow plug relay) buzz. I quickly removed the jumper.
I then took off the plug on the injector pump that supplies voltage to the cold idle solenoid and advance. I applied voltage to the solenoid only and it worked fine, giving a higher cold idle.
Should applying 12v power to the wire on the cold idle solenoid make the relay on the firewall buzz?
Sounds like a short somewhere, or is that noise normal?
