While sitting idle in a small one seat room this morning, I was looking over the Austin Western produced manual for the M108 and M62. It has load charts for both trucks. I found that the 20,000# that the 5 ton was rated at lifting was only if the boom jacks were supported to the back of the truck or to the ground, which means you can't rotate with that much weight. The maximum recommended rotatable weight for the 5 ton is 10,000#. The maximum rotating weight of the "Puny" M108 is 8000#. Perhaps in comparison, the little M108 has more bang per pound than its bigger brother. Oh yeah, the M108 only weights 20,000#. I still love my M108.

RE: Re: RE: Comparo, M108 and M62

There are a hundred pics of the truck on here. You want me to repost one or set up the camera to get a shot of me in my one seat room looking at the book? David, praytell, what are we in store for in the next MVM? Rizzo, I don't have a copy of it. I'd send it to the guy requesting pics but he's backlogged a little over a year on making PDF copies from hard manuals. He's at almost a year on videos too!

VT, I understand you have a book that will peak our interest! If you would send it to me, I could scan it and post it(if it isn't 700 pages). If you ever decide to sell it, I would like to be first in line sir.
