CUCV - Car hauler?

Please correct me if I'm missing somthing, but. These trucks are designed to tow each other ,correct? Add ah tow bar to the front of one CUCV and pull it with another. Essentially pulling a 6000lb trailer. His 2600lb mustang and trailer would only weigh about half that. So shouldn't it be no problem?

Blazers are the possible tow vehicle for a car hauler , the short wheel base makes them squirrelly. plus a low tow rating.

Towed Load Allowance 3000 lbs (1361 kg)

The M1009 has no where near that 6000 lb capability. (I forget what the manual says but it's low) The bumper hitch is the weak link.

Yeah, a class III solves the hitch problem. It does not solve a 160hp, 3.08 geared, tall loose transmission, small braked, short wheelbase issue.

Modern half tons face the same issue, they approach 9-11k lb. tow capacity. Doesn't make it right. Trucks designed to SAFELY (which is accelerate, brake, and steer the load under all conditions) pull that have duallies, E rated tires, and massive sway bars.
