There seems to be a large gap between the cap and rotor. It quit on me while running last fall. I'm going to readjust the points but want to check the other parts. I'm Leary about the gap between cap and rotor.

I picked up a NOS distributor at a swap meet and swapped the internals with the reo dist. The one I picked up was the wrong rotation, but parts swapped just fine.

Any of the typical MV dealers will have the parts. White owl, saturn surplus, memphis, eastern, or boyle.

If the rotor to cap gap opened, a chance the bushing/thrust washer that keeps the shaft in place in the stem DIED, allowing the shaft to drop a bit, does not take much to open the air gap enough to loose spark or at least make things bad enough that spark is so weak it might as well be none.
