:idea:Alternator Belt alternative possiblities!!!!2cents:idea:

On my 1978 AMG Deuce, the alternator was virtually laying flat on the primary fuel filter with the recommended alternator belts. I bought a set of 9465 belts which are 46 7/8", or one inch shorter than the stock size listed in the spreadsheet here. They were perfect on my truck. Short enough to get the alternator off the fuel filter so I can get a wrench down there, but long enough that I can push the alternator up far enough to get the belts on and off.:idea:

Awesome resource. Thanks for the hard work you put into that. Now only if we had one for M809 series and the M939 series.

Great spread sheet! What about adding fluid types and civilan equivilants for some of us new folks that don't have Military experiance? Example: GAA = ? Multi purpose brake disc and wheel bearing grease, the red type?

Brake fluid type? DOT 3,4, or 5?

Engine oil wieght? 15w40?

80/90 = 80w90 is the same right?

HDO 30 = ISO 46 or ISO 68?

CW11C= air tool oil, wd-40?

I'm going thru the Lube order TM trying to figure out what works for what.

Thanks for the info.

Ford Mechanic - I used the UP45 number at my local NAPA just last week. Worked fine for me.
