Had the same issue here once(about 2 months back). They were having a 4x4 tug of war at the local dirt track.I asked if I could enter the deuce just for S&Gs but was told that wouldn't be fair to the other competitors.Ok,so I didn't even go to the track that night and found out that only 1 person even entered the contest and he was rolling on rockwell axles.Hee hee hee.Serves them right.

The wrecker did 350 feet. The flag man was going nuts because I was not stopping. LMAO The track was 300 feet. The guy on the mike said he thought I was taking it home. If the guy on the sled wanted to stop me he could very easily. It stops bigger things with more power then we have.

There is a M60a2 there but it has final drive problems. I thought it would be cool but !! That is a hole other mess between the fair people , vfw, army, state cops and a few others. SO it just sits. What a waste.

I pulled my Deuce for the first time at the local fair this past August. They didn't have a class for the Deuce but were very happy for me to do an exhibition pull. Didn't even have to pay the $10.00 entry fee.

I wasn't able to do the full pull of 300 feet. I estimated that my pull was about 250-260 ft.
I used 2nd gear low range with the front axle locked in. Next time I may try 3rd in low or 2nd in high range. Couldn't get enough speed in 2nd low range. But it was my first time and had to start somewhere. Any suggestions?

The crowd was very happy to see the truck and I got lots of people asking about how they could get one. I even had a few former military mechanics and drivers come over and look over the truck. Overall, it's lots of fun to do.
Didn't get any pictures, was busy driving the truck.

I pulled in 1st gear high range and had no trouble. They extended the chain to make it harder for me to pull.
From the tractor show I went to this summer, they reason they extend the chain is so the angle of the chain is equal for for all tractors/trucks regardless of hitch height. most of the tractors have very low hitch points, while the one guy with an m37 had a higher hitch point. they extended his chain, and if they hadn't he would have been doing a wheel stand much quicker.
