Some fly in, some bring mvs, some povs, some hitch hike with others, we have not had a air drop or a helo insertion/extraction YET but I am certain that in time we will.

In my case I have ridden to the rally in someone else's Deuce, driven my pickup truck with a 101 twice and driven a civi car. All from Ohio.

This year pickup and who knows what behind it, if anything.

I thought you were going to bring the Jag. to go trail ridding in.

This thread is proof positive of why I love being on Steel Soldiers! I think it's awesome that so many members have volunteered their time or equipment to help a fellow brother!

I will be at the SSGR. I've never turned wrenches on a Deuce before so I don't know if I'd be of much use. I can provide moral support, for whatever that's worth. Maybe take a few pictures to document the surgery.

If you can use a wrench, ratchet, screwdriver, side-cutters or pliers you can help. Using tools isn't the only way to help either, Doghead and Gimpy did the front boots for CARNAC one year and I ran to town for more brake cleaner. Any help is a good thing.

All I can say is WOW! Thank you all for your help.

I'm putting together a list of what I know is needed and who has committed to what. I have a cooler that is big enough to hold a marlin that will be full of water and sodas. I'm bringing a couple of EZ-ups and some folding tables to spread out parts going and coming on. I'll try to compile the list this afternoon and please let me know what I'm missing.

A screen to set on the ground under the deuce to catch the "**** don't lose that bolt, it's left hand thread, and 1.12" inches long, and we are screwed if it goes missing". Because sure enough, it will hit the ground, ferro will kick it into the back of SW Bradley's Dodge, and before you know it, the bolt is in Ohio, where it will be found, and put in the extra bolt box........never to be seen again.

Don't know much about deuce's, but I am a mean go-pher. I can toss tools with the best of them.

Brake Clean
Parts washing bins
Rattle cans of primer and paint. Don't laugh, you pull a fender that's when you can prime any rust spots. :)

I believe as PB does, that GOD tends to lead the way, I truly feel this project is meant to be, if not, It would not have come together this quick if at all. If you look at things from the BEGINING when Mr. Andy lost the engine, he was 15 minutes away from a secure location and recovery, he could have been a 100 miles from nowhare, at the secure location there was someone who turns wrenches and now how everything is falling in place for a rally engine swap, yep there was some planning some where.

I'm headed to Wreckerman's place in about a week and a half to pick up a deuce bed. If the engine needs to be brought back before the rally I can have him load it on my truck. It would lighten his load for the trip in October.

Would like to help anyway I can. If nothing more than fuel for the wrecker to help get it to the rally. Also would enjoy being there to help/watch/learn, might have to do it myself one day. Keep us posted on what day this project will begin.
