Ah! Another ingenious use for the ol' ACME Mark VII Lip splitter!

Thanks for posting, I have a big tire project coming up soon so I'm considering any and all ideas.

Anybody here old enough to remember when General Motors used to include a jack similar to that with the purchase of every car they sold? I've busted down more than couple tires doing that .... back when I was a LOT younger.

Hydraulic???

Hmmmmm ... I wonder if this is gonna be yet another use for pump off my Harbor Freight cherry picker?

That just seems like way too much work just to dismount a tire! I know a tire service guy that will come out with his service truck and do the tires right at my location. My SUPER SINGLES project on my M820 5 ton was about $300.

That included mounting 6 14.00/20's on new Hemtt rims, removing 10 11.00/20's from the truck, providing and installing 20 new bud stems and nuts, and mounting the new tires on the truck.
I still cry every time I see pics of that truck, it is just so awesome. If I ever win the lottery I'm buying one like that and touring the US with it.

Won't have to worry about fuel cost if I win the lottery!

I still have 18 to go too.

Im on my 3rd or 4th set of NDCCs in 2 years. My deuce loves to eat tires, Buts I gota save the tubes. 30 bucks a pop X 33 = 990 bucks worth of tubes.

And in the process, I think I have 7 M34 rims, as they are the same as the regular rims, just about 1-2 inches taller.

Great use of a hi-lift.

I bought this last summer when I changed out all my tires. But it was a heck of a lot cheaper last summer. It's worth it's wait in gold and once you get the feel for it, usually pops the bead in one or two swings. What made it hard was doing it in July when it was 95 with 80% humidity.

I did check for one at my local tool place which normally has EVERYTHING. However, they sold it and new ones hadn't arrived,

I got a price of about 210 dollars or so to dismount and mount at the tire place, which I thought was wonderful. However I am a little poor right now and I would also have to split this in two sections as I am blasting the wheels. It also happens that I need about 200 dollars in parts for my truck so I decided to do it myself.

I'm not old enough to remember them coming with them, but I've owned and used enough older vehicles with similar jacks.
