Only flat roads so far here in Florida.
Blue Fire was just a lot of trial and error in the program. View attachment 936510
Our Bluefire Instant Fuel Economy text gauge works, though Average Fuel Economy does not. I haven't figured out how to get useful Trip readings either. I haven't researched how as yet, though I would prefer to configure my own gauges, or at least be able to see what data they are actually displaying—

Yeah, my Average Fuel Eco has to be calculated on my truck by resetting mileage and fill up volume manually.
Bit of a pita and I've had mixed results with it.

I never got Instant Fuel Eco to work. That's why I asked when I saw this. I was wondering if I had missed a step setting it up.
Everything else is talking to the ECU perfectly, so I know there's a solution in there somewhere.

I've been a little disappointed in that mileage was one of the main reasons I set up Bluefire.
Elsewise, it's an awesome little tool. So much info available.
I need to hunker down and sort it out. My truck is a C7, so all the telemetry is there..
And I need to run a little power cord to my tablet (it only lasts about 2 hrs per charge, but I was only using it around town for testing).

I haven't figured out the difference between Engine Torque and Engine Load either—

MPG report
30400 lb weight
Eco hubs
6x6 m1096 (lwb chassis truck)
2007 C7
188 miles driven
30.3 gallons
Highway speed was 65, that was for about 90 of the miles, rest were 30-55 backroads.
Elevation along route:

Does anyone have the dip switch settings for the speedo? Standard diff gears, EcoHubs. Just spent two hours reading this whole thread and didn't find the list, which I KNOW has been posted. Maybe a other thread?

Ok, almost 6,000 miles running echo hubs with original gears, 3126 engine with a 330 hp program. Note: I weigh 27,800 lbs
Oh and I had previously driven over 25,000 miles with the 3:07/ high speed gears and NO echo hubs.
Update…..
Love the noise reduction
Love knowing everything is spinning half the RPM’s

Hate that the exhaust braking only slows me down to 20 mph before they disengage. They were effective down to less than 10 mph before. Which means I’m using the brakes way way way more. Also while going down hill, I mean down mountains with single track dirt forest roads I have to manually shift the transmission into 1st gear to keep from riding the brakes constantly to maintain a nice controllable speed.
Also while going down 10% grade mountain roads on paved roads the exhaust brakes don’t keep me in a safe speed like they did before with the echo hubs.

FUEL Mileage everyone wants to know.
With 3:07/high speed gears I got over 25,000 miles averaging 6.5
With original gears and echo hubs I’m getting about 8-8.5 mpg. Not what I hoped for but it is what it is. It’s better! Also my max speed is 60 mph. I personally aim for 50-55 mph in 6th gear which is the optimal mpg while monitoring the instant MPG according to the ECM. I’m able to live monitor it. Oh and forget ever using 7th gear….got to 80mph and it still never shifted to 7th gear.

Hate that it starts from a stop in 2nd gear. Makes for a sluggish start.

Which brings me to my big question? Any possible way to reprogram the transmission to use 1st gear in all situations? Different ECU from a different vehicle? Just spit balling….

Haven't found the ability to start from 1st in the Allison DOC software. I don't really feel it's sluggish, just need the turbo to spool up then it takes off well but I don't have a lot of experience prior to eco hubs.
At 30400lbs and eco last check was 6.5 mpg at 65mph.
Agree with the exhaust brake.

On the WTEC2 there is a manual lockup program option, used for oilfield I think. Auto-manual switch and engage-disengage switch. I suspect there is something similar in the wtec3 programming. That might get you some better slow speed ex brake performance, but you would have to be sure to disengage it before coming to a stop.

There is a pre-select program option, it;s used with mode. If you can reprogram, you may be able to set mode to goto 1st gear. It is easy enough to separate 4WD from the mode output signal and onto its own switch… Select mode to goto 1st, start out and release mode to go back to normal shifting 2-7?

Since 1st to 2nd involves 2 sets of solenoids, I wouldn’t expect this to be a very smooth shift. Since it also involves the P6 clutch, I would probably want to insure that the trans has the updated thrust washer back there if making this shift a routine…

Huh - my WTEC-IV gets into 7th gear about 78 MPH and will stay there lower than that. It's not necessary though and not the efficient speed to be driving anyway.

I don't personally find the difference in off-the-line performance to be an issue for me. Never noticed much difference, Very slight but much smoother. You get used to it quickly.

You are correct 1st to 2nd shift is not smooth at all.
So probably not reasonable to consider exploring.

“Launch It” that’s funny! That’s like watching a space x falcon heavy take off.
Honestly loosing the exhaust braking effectiveness is the worse and just want it bake. Before I rarely used the brakes. Now I’m always using them.
