Well john is doing the wiring on the M5 i decided to work on Fred's Ferret is being at least 6 or more years since it ran so the two most known problems with Ferrets is gas tank and brakes , so we clean the tank about a year ago to the best we could with out pulling it out which is big big job especially on the MK2 because its turret even do we have a good spare that is of my ferret so we did a good primary fuel filter and a secondary by the carb which you can see the fuel in also put a electric pump because the manual was bad and that's another big job. so we got it running had to pull it out with the HMMMWV cause brakes where jam wedrove it around a few laps around the shop and pull it in to the work shop once it broke loose and i tell you does engines run like a sewing machine , got it of the ground pull wheels off and drums took all the brake cylinders out of course full of junk and stuck but got them apart and also master cylinder going to overhaul all the parts once we get the pistons out which are stock, all the shoes and drums are like new so it once we fix all the problems with the parts and new DOT 5 fluid should be nice to drive here are some pictures

Nice. I would love to have Ferret some day but having to take baby steps, M37, then a M35, then a M923A2, then ...

As an aside, a little punctuation would make reading your post a lot easier on folks.

Ferret looks really good. The sand channels are a really nice and rare accessory to have.

More work

Well Fred rebuild the cylinders and is moving to the brake cylinder so i started cleaning the scissors style levers and the cable plungers, the scissors and wheel cylinders go inside a two piston alumminun square wheel cylinder style which the 2 scissors style levers open and push the two pistons that are hook to the shoes either by fluid from the brake cylinder there all stuck so they most be removed and get then free, looking at the drawings they are held in place with 2 studs that look like they where press inn and not enough room between the hub to slide out so had to remove the hub to confirm big job but they are threaded in so not enough room for double nut or even a stud remover, so will weld the nuts on the other 3 to removed its going to take a few more weeks here are some pictures...

Hub back together

Well this weekend me and Robert reassemble the hub, and i think is was smart and a lot less work to go ahead and cut the studs from the other 3 wheels instead of taking apart the other 3 hubs as it looks like they where part of the casting, will mill the cut studs out and tap then for new studs, i think is a lot easier than taking apart the rest of the HUBS , here are some pictures...

I am confused, this can't be the same Ferret you were going to repower (from the other thread), since you are still showing shifting the pre-select transmission. So that would mean there are 2 Ferrets in Miami?? Wow! Do you guys have any other British armor? I am heading to Orlando in a week for my son's soccer tournament, would love to road trip to Miami to check out your fleet!
