Gen 1 light coming on

few night back i put on the blower motor. all the way up. my gen 1 light would come on when i turned on the blower motor. little while later. the 30 amp fuse at the top of the fuse block blows. put in another one. blower motor does not work at all now. when i do turn it on the light in the dash dim. checked the volt meter too. says there was 30.00 going to the gauge.

i have no clue where to start with this. any help would be great thanks

It sounds like your heater blower motor is shorted out. The heater fuse "turns on" gen#1 so when it blows the gen#1 light stays lit.

I am having the same problem. I do not have the truck here now. Can you tell me where it was shorted out? Under the dash? pass/driver side? under hood? what wire? etc.
