I am a little confused on the interlock device. Does your system disconnect from the utility power grid with the disconnect box installed outside (pictured) or is there a interlock / transfer switch installed on your main panel inside? The electrician worked a bit over two hours to do the installation. Mostly dealing with the half frozen ground. Thought the interlock switch was interesting. It is the gray box on the post. Slip the cover open and the black handle is what you pull out and reverse to allow current to flow. Ran the entire house without any noticeable change in the engine noise. Household furnace was running, assorted lights in the house, Reznor shop heater running, shop lights, and the three phase rotary converter on and supplying 3 phase power to the mill, lathe, etc which were on as well.
This would be a local disconnect but not an interlock to prevent backfeeding on the mains. Did the electrician also install an interlock on the main power panel for the house?
