I could definetly see one of the companies that rent vehicles for movie set use paying big bucks for them. Military movies are very popular and in the scheme of a movie budget a few hundred grand for some vehicles is a drop in the bucket. Especially if you can reuse them in multiple movies.

I picked up #7. My dad and I will enjoy this. He LOVES humvees. Me, I like em but I'm planning on picking up a ragged out 2 door off govplanet to convert to a cummins and wheel the piss out of. I was surprised they went as high as they did but they said 60k was reserve. I really wanted the mercedes 6x6 shelter trucks but nope.

Keep us posted on how they are side by side... it would be interesting to know much more guts the turbo has. What do you plan to do about the shelter weight or did you buy a shelter too? As is they are not balanced to drive without the shelter in place. They can be driven short distances at low speed (for service etc) but are very unstable without the shelter.

The final price is perfectly in line with what it would cost you to build an M1113 from scratch...and these trucks are authentic. I'm building an M1113 right now for a cusotmer that is exactly as auctioned.
You have no idea how difficult and expensive it is to find a lot of the correct parts, especially for the Air conditioning.
heck, a new full dressed 6.5 Turbo motor will set you back at minimum 10-12k.

the level of restrictions for the off-road is not a concern for folks who want something unique.

i can tell you that these trucks were never going to make it to auction as they were all purchased privately before the auction, but the Rep decided he could make more money by going to auction and cancelled the orders, but for some unknown reason, 4 of them were sold before auction, perhaps he had already paid. And it was to late for GL to back out....I don't know, and don't care....just food for thought.

These trucks have variable rate springs, not sure what version of variable that these have, but it's not like the m1097 days that required sandbags in the bed.
If you look at the springs, there should be a part number on the top flat portion under the CARC, also if its not gone, a colored tie wrap on one of the coils...that color denotes the spring type.

I was watching them all along... not that I could afford to buy one, but my initial thought was $60K on the sheltered one and $50K on the others.
Seemed pretty odd that they all hit 59K right around the same time, than 1 hit the reserve at 60K and the rest sat at 59 for a while. then one by 1 most went to 60 and 61 while a few lingered at 59??.. Also strange that the sheltered unit also had a reserve of 60K. The biggest problem I see is that all the instructional plaques are in Hebrew, so no one will ever be able to adjust the seats or use the lights... without buying Rosetta Stone first..rofl

Hebrew? Try Arabic as stated in the discription.

Hebrew? Try Arabic as stated in the description.
Actually looking at comparisons I think the description is wrong and it is in fact Hebrew. It would not be the first time that a GL description was wrong. Which would mean these trucks were slated for Israel.

See the examples: 2nd is Hebrew text, 3rd is Arabic text.

Might not be either... there are a whole bunch of scribble scrabble languages in that part of the world.

Uh, it sure looks like your example shows that it is in fact Arabic.
Look at the "start" section on the switch. Ya YI, none of it connected together................? Using a translator for start it doesn't match either: Top is Hebrew, bottom Arabic.
