You know, this is only about #100+ GL bitch thread, EVERYBODY,, I mean EVERYBODY knows GL sucks, If you don't know then you have NOT read one GL thread, SO with that said, you do BUISNESS with GL going in with your eyes open, but if you don't want to deal with the CRAP, don't do BUISNESS as simple as that, BUT doing a GL SUCKS thread once or twice a week does NOTHING but WASTE server space

I once commented to a boss about the seemingly large number of upset customers we had.

He just said there were 270 million Americans (at that time) and it will take us a long time to (blank) them all off.

You just contributed to wasted server space. ;-) Just playin. True though. Crying doesn't change anything and it IS a US Government contracted organization. That being said what in the world do people expect? Room service? Expect them to wash and wax your deuce and top off the tank before you arrive to get it? Please. Our government sure doesn't offer reliable service to the people or deal with complaints so it's foolish to think their subcontractors will.

I had GL load 5 bolster trailers onto a gooseneck with a forklift. The driver was a nice guy but kinda dumb. He managed to bend 2 rims in the process. Being that they claim "buyer load, no assistance available" I kept my mouth shut. I was just tickled they helped.

When I picked up my duece the tank was full and it was raining , so I guess I just got the shaft on the wax job .

Is it just me or has this forum turned into a drama soap opera lately. Wondering if our ranks are turning into a bunch of cheesy women complaining around the coffee table. Buck up guys!
For some reason this post made me think of the Geico commercial with R Lee Ermey.

Disclaimer- Yes, this post is a total waste of bandwidth. I thought it was funny though.

Ohhhh nnnooo
pleasssse don't beat me big brother I'm just a little sheep. All you I had such a wonderful experience guys are a bunch of torries. The only way to effect change in a broken system is to band together and demand change. There should always be a way of addressing greivances and the customer is always right. and if the public ( ie, auction buyers, citizens and consumers) do not complain then they get what they deserve. Any moron in government service would agree that once you have a EUC done you shouldn't have to do another on unless something changes on you application. Its just amatter of getting someone at DOD to listen and they wont listen to just one person.

The worst part of buying my deuce was the 5 month EUC wait and an inncorrect digit in the VIN on the auction page. Other than that, the truck is in excellent shape. My dad met a guy who's in the unit the truck came from. He said it was their best truck and he can't believe they got rid of it.

There are lots of GL complaint threads to add on to. No point starting another one.

I think it is important for members to tell stories of GL problems. The main purpose of this forum is to share information for learning purposes INCLUDING warning potential buyers of the dangers involved in dealing with GL.

Yes it is a lot of complaining, but people can learn a lot and save themselves a lot of wasted time and money by reading others' testimony. We have all learned something the hard way through GL, and many of us newcomers can't imagine that there is a business in this country that manages to stay in business with such poor customer service, restrictions and ludicrous procedures.

So Please, please continue to share your GL successes and woes so that everyone can benefit. Do not be bullied by members calling you names and remember that GL is an advertiser on this site.

My advice (what brought me to this thread) is due to a recent bad recovery and customer service experience.

1. When bidding at Letterkenny, make sure you have an open schedule, because loadout times are LIMITED. I believe they only do 4 days a week and 4 hours a day. No early morning, no late afternoon. Again, hard to imagine a company that remains in business 16 hours of customer service operation per week.

2. When recovering at Letterkenny, do not pull your car anywhere near the gate. Park more than 100 feet away, walk to the gate and stand at attention until the DRMO secretary acknowledges you (up to 15 min). She is a cold-hearted tatooed tough b**** with a chip on her shoulder and you should only respond with yes ma'am and no ma'am or you will get reamed.

3. If you have a customer service issue, don't bother. GL headquarters doesn't care whether you are happy or not. They won't let you talk to a supervisor, won't respond to emails, and won't do anything but take your money and not release your property. I know SOME of it is out of their hands, but they can do more to make things easier.

That said, Matt at Letterkenny (the GL lot attendant) is a nice guy and very helpful.

In regards to your issue 1 , if you had read the entire auction description you would have known about the loadout procedures . They only loadout certain days and appiontment usually are required , its your responsibility to know the loadout terms BEFORE bidding .

2. Security procedures are set by the base commander not GL . again your bashing the wrong people

3. If you had searched the 100 or so threads on this subject before bidding
you would have been well aware of the problems of a exclusive long term contract to sell military surplus

It doesn't make it right. Lets be positive please and consider that there are hundreds of thousands of threads on this site and I was simply moving an older one to the top for the benefit of new readers who have not spent a lifetime reading the threads. Loadout times are not expressed on the GL website, and as I explained, I was informing potential buyers of more obscure and unconventional risks that they may have failed to consider. This is what people do on an educational forum such as this.

This is on every bid page on GL but may vary by location ;
Preview Arrangements:By appointment only. No customer escorting available for preview. Loadout Procedures:Load by appointment only within 10 business days of a paid in full invoice Security Procedures:Must have current ID, proof of car insurance and current car registration.

It pretty much explains it , it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact GL before bidding to see what your options are , they are not going to change their scheduale to fit your needs . And alot of sites are unmaned and have very limited access .

Edit; You should spend some time reading old threads you WILL learn something from it.

Again, it doesn't make it right. GL/DRMO should man sites and have better access. This guy's probably on the payroll.

Please continue posting GL successes and woes so that newcomers may benefit even if they haven't invested their entire lives in the SS site. I said my part and I'm done arguing. God bless.

I have never had a bad experience at Ft. Carson GL. I follow their rules to the letter, get in, get my purchase, and get out. By making their job as easy as I can, I have avoided problems. We have also brought a couple dozen donuts on occaision to help "smooth the process."

i gotta be honest. ive bought 9 trucks and 8 trailers from GL and not one single complaint at all. If you treat them nice and have a lil common sense. Thats all it takes

In reality, there are MORE good stories about service then bad, though the bad really suck, bet we can find 100 plus GL threads, just search GL ( and that is from someone that search is not a friend)
