I have 2ea. 5k's and one 10K. this 10k i got from my neighbor where it's been sitting outside for a few years. I got it running and it sounds fine, it indicates 240vac available but it is not charging the batteries. I believe it is the rectifier that has a small plastic container on the side of it for 2ea. small automotive style fuses. Does anyone know where they go?
May of 1969 is date of issue, a 4A084 mod SF 10-0, but it looks like any mep 10k I've dealt with for years. This lack of charging affects the oil pressure guage (intermittant) , I don't know if the Hour meter is reading, I have a -14 manual but am looking for a start point. I plan on using the 3 phase to run my lathe till i get my shop set up. sure will appreciate a clue on where to start. I'm sure what is behind the pully wheel (for pull rope) at the front of the generator is ok, i blew it out, it was pretty clean, I'm real unsure what to measure for output from there and i suppose it goes to the rectifier from there, then batteries, guages etc.
