The auction is over (gl) and they show up in my bid history as "High bidder". Is it pretty much a done deal?

If so, now the fun begins!!! I have never had an EUC, so I realize I won't be getting them until March / April.

Did anybody here check out the deuces at Mechanicsburg?

Both trucks have flaws, but I figure with two trucks I should be OK.

Cool part is I set a budget of $3700 and I got both for $3711. Now to start shopping for tools!

Na, keep em both. I think you got a good deal. they look to need a few little things. Plus if you get one stuck you have a backup! I know this routine well......

Couple of reasons I got two. First, in a worst case scenario, I may need parts from both to make one good truck. Secondly, I'm keeping them in Lake Como, PA which is in a nice snow belt. Eventually I want one as a beater for plowing and reocovery and the other for show. Finally, my wife is going to f'n flip when I bring these home. Better to have her flip out once than twice a few months apart.

Anyone in the Scranton, NE PA, Binghampton NY area, PM me. I should have one of these running by spring.

Mikey, Good job!!!!:-D
I won a m35 on Nov 4th and I am waiting on my EUC.

I am like a kid with a new toy and can not play with it.

I got mine for the same idea... if the CCKW breaks down having a $1500 tow truck is most likely cheaper than the cost of a tow home!

Would like to have gotten the winch truck but I had a limit and this was close to it.

Called my dad to tell him and he said he would start saving motor oil for fuel. Gotta see if I can get some pics of him in 'Nam so I can get the unit numbers right.

I got the other '66 Deuce at Mechanicsburg... I hope its a runner if not, it will be!

I wanted a 60's deuce for my dad (well, me.. but he gets to ride in it) and just by dumb luck the first truck i ever bid on is a 60's era and I git it.

Its only 70 miles away!!!! WOOT!!! Start the EUC countdown clock!

That was a very nice one (as far as we can trust gl). It starts, it's clean, good mileage, heat, nice paint etc. I didn't bid on that one, but I was close.

Congrats!

Thanks for that. I the truck with the gauges missing was my 'backup' truck, and i had the one with the winch on the watch list.... but my limit was $1800 and the others went over that. Had two or three guys pop in to bid once or twice otherwise I would have gotten it for around $1200.

Post when you do your pick up.... maybe we can help each other out. I used to work at NAVSISA (well, as a BAE contract employee) on the Naval base... there is an Old Country Buffet right outside the gate... good eats.

Do you know what unit he was in?

Thanks Albert, I know I'm gonna feel the same haha. Right now I'm happy that I have time to figure out the logistics, find transport, and get some new tools. However, I know after the first month I'm going to be going nuts waiting.

Off the top of my head no.. but he should :) He was an MP. He won't say much because of my mother. I think he had a dog because some of the pics have him and a German Shepard.... he only lives 10 minutes from me.

The winch deuce was a must. I'm hoping that truck just needs brakes, guages and batteries, but with gl, I've heard it's a crap shoot. Either way, with the winch being worth $1k it's like getting the truck for $851.

I pm'd you my info. Definitely be interested in helping each other out if the euc's permit.

Guys, take a few minutes and save your truck pictures, then post the pictures on this thread(not the links).

GL links go dead later on.

I let an M35 winch go about 2 months ago off Craigslist.... $395!

If I didn't win an M35 there was a closed cab CCKW in York that I had my eye on.

SO either way the other half of the garage was gonna get filled.
