I think the Air Force wins the biggest truck award...

Even though they would probably come with an “off road only” title, I’m sure there are ways around it(they really don’t mean off road only) and it will never affect other MV owners If I find a way to make it my daily driver.

Been looking into this since posting and I think I have an idea.

Register and insure as a Nissan Xterra A0, and hope the DMV agent might be dyslexic.

Anyone know where the 17 digit vin is on these things? I found this number in the parts TM for the Air Filter element , 87-G73554-11DF99.5530. I’ll just use it for a vin if it does not have one.

I’ll try this at the DMV way out in the country several counties away where they have no electricity and are run by the Amish where they hand write everything and deliver to the state office a few weeks later by horse. That way I’ll have my plates before they even know what happened.

I went there once before after someone else told me about them when I tried to title my M-274 for road use, Only to be told I do not even need a registration, ins or plates since the military called it a “Mule”!

Close enough.

If this works, I’ll post a thread explaining in better detail how I did it.

M-X mobile ICBM system, designed to have the launchers wander about so they could not be targeted by a Soviet first strike.
The project had problems (among them deployment of missiles that were not operational so they would "look" deployed to the Soviets), the whole project was scrapped when the Soviet Union dissolved. There were also launchers built in rail cars, and some missiles in silos, though the silos defeated the 'mobile' concept.

While I recall a lot of name calling and scandal in the press at the time, they did achieve some of the desired effect in making the Soviets spend a very large sum of money trying to find a way to counter them.

Cheers

Is that a launcher or is it the transporter that puts them in the silos??
It's a MOBILE launch system.

MY DREAM.....

I want one as my new DAILY DRIVER (indication of how bad the drivers around here are) and to remain "neighbor-friendly" I also want an Atlas Missile Silo that I can dig up and reset in my back yard in which to park this BEAST. Granted, parking it VERTICALLY down that deep hole might be a bit tricky the first few times, I'm sure I'll master it soon - I am a quick learner.:driver:

I have had such a dream for years... Circa 2011....

I think it would look great in my driveway. I am sure my neighbors wouldn't agree though.
If it was in my driveway, it would also be in my neighbor's, across the street's driveway, as well, and possible in both of our garages... and back yards too..

Yeah, HOA, fine me for this! I'll just run you over....

What was the top speed of that?
