Instructions are pretty straight forward, however it does not mention that the grill may hit the rear braces of the bumper when the hood is raised. If raised vigorously enough you might damage grill. To prevent this the hood prop rod needs to be shortened. I cut mine at the L shaped bend and then rebent it. You will need to drill a new hole for the cotter pin. Also I installed a small roll pin to replace the swaged projections that position the outer washer. Thisshortening modification gives at least an inch or so of clearance so Private Snuffy should not damage your grill. If your HMMWV has a winch plate I don't think this modification should be necessary but check.( I know I need to learn to post pictures)
