anyone put a floor cloth in a tent like this before? Curious how you fix it to the ground . Would think turning would be a problem as you jocky the rig around inside. Is there like ground stakes ever 2 feet thru the material orrrrr??

PS-this image is another example as well of the whole thing tied down with ropes straint down along walls (see left corner of LME in image)

these end pieces are confusin gas hayl
OK.... got it... way they were folded up and stored... w/doors not in position they would be when installed .... as I unfolded and laid it out.... it just was ????? Yep it is how Platoon last folded it up.... that was causing the mind explosion :cookoo: 🤯 .. and why it made no sense.. (that's my story and Im sticking to it)

Once done blaming the Privates.. Overlapped the Garage doors; unlike how it was stored & originally laid out; buckled/velcroed it all up on both sides, as if in full secured position for Wind storms, Snow Blizzards, rain, hail and thunder, Tanks and Taliban- (needed anyway so won't rip itself apart as you raise it up.) and then laid it back out; that's when the corrected shape appeared, and it all made sense.

Question..... TM calls for Tie down ropes off at angles......... but ton of pics it appears folk have run them straight down along the walls to the ground. (or pics just have ropes dangling?)

@swiss and anyone else with an LME, How do you have yours tied off?

( see image in https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/lme-maintenance-tent-erection.143775/post-2618628)
Ropes go down on angles, about 3-4 feet away from base of tent. It is in the instruction manual. Do you have one? OMG Love the Video shows what a bitch these things are. :)

Yeah I have the TM's. and refer back and forth to them. Was just recognizing that in the photos of these in actual use in theatre and some in setup by surplus companies that sell them.. the ropes are sometimes like TM's and sometimes straight down along the edges. One surplus company I saw photos of a few LME.... recently realized their ropes are along sides........ and they have been set up and used that way for storage for last 12yrs.

One end Curtain installed. Am at it it alone again. Eddie ended up with unexpected sick baby and family priority stuff to deal with for a while. He'll be back to assisting soon. He got me over the hump and moving again, so am grateful.

rain today on/off unpredictably so that throws off putting up remaining end.

Questions though. The Draw Cord for curtain(s)

End just put up has no draw cord. Obviously can make one..... How does this draw cord supposed to work...... where does it attach. TM's SUCK cause they assume draw cord exist... and it only says to thread it thru the tiny D-ring at outside edge of End Wall's Curtain, on each side.

We never use draw string. It would connect to the ring at the end of the curtain.

But you will forget to secure and run over and tear out the ring and destroy the end

Last End Wall/Curtain up. Even got Curtain Drawcord(s) on it. .... Took @swiss experience he posted about little further up, to make sure Cord(s) are hanging in a way to NOT get run over . Put Drawcord on both sides instead one cord that pulls both open /closed ....... if that is how it originally was not sure.

Now got to lace/sew all the stuff together.... ohhh and to shimmy (Slide For LIfe if your an O-course guy) out on the Ridge Perlun to put the R clips into peg at center of the two cover halves.

Speaking of Pegs.. that last Peg ... besides the two center ones...... damnnnnn that was a PITA. Cover just did not want to seat down low enough to get the RClip in.... that took a good 30 min. all on its own.

....
Done.... Rain never came but clouds significantly dropped temps..... soooo took opportunity while Cover not baking hot from the sun, to slither up to the R-Clips and put them into Pegs. Laid on A frame instead of Purlin. Yeah Im a genius in recognizing that this was way less distance and much stronger all the way around. My skinny arse fairly light anyway. (ok ok.... not really a genius ; while strength and distance true.... did it that way only cause the Ladder was pretty much right there already and just made it a wiser choice.. just pretend I'm genius for a moment .. rofl too bad the SSoldiers Original custom emoji(s) with motion do not work anymore. That ROFLMAO just used ..... use to be a real cool emoji..

Anyway...... Slithering up at A-Frame(s) location opens method to do patches on outer roof when that need arises. Will happen; soon.. can see light thru in roof already in a few places.

sorta same topic as patching..... sorta not

Side question. one.... similar topic- what would be good product to coat threads so they last longer...... that is what usually makes a tent fail..... threads deteriorate before the vinyl cover does

Second side question.. what about velcro that came unattached from vinyl? One of covers on the LME was put up wet and muddy by last set of soldiers.... stored that way till end life date, that made the velcro come off.... cracked the clear vinyl windows and destroyed the Mosquito netting over window.

Would think this material is same as what is used for Cargo Covers on MV's of same era?
