interesting read here
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Basically, don't roll backwards while in a forward gear and don't let it roll forward while in reverse. doing this will set the sprag to the wrong direction, causing windup, a loud pop or bang when the sprag lets go. under certain conditions you could break somethingAs a somewhat new owner of a sprag deuce could you please expand on the first/reverse reverse/first theory, I'm also going to look at TM10
Thanks
Randy

Resectifully you split shift don't work.
1L 5 mph 1H 9mph 2L 8 mph 2H 16mph 3L 14mph stop right there. You just over reved the motor bad. You might not have over reved the 1H to 2L to bad but it was close.
Need to read that data plate on the dash.
If you have to read a book or TM to learn how to drive were in bad shape.
I can see starting 2L and running out the lows then hit 4H and 5H.
I myself use 2L 2H and run out the highes when not loaded.
I don't use first on the street. I also let the truck I am driving speek to me and drive it to where there is least amount of strain on drive train.
Every truck can be different but they can speek.
I have driven bigger dump trucks with non synchros and 25 ton on my back spreading the stone 4 inches deep in the mud. I think I can drive a truck.
I only would use 1 low in very soft ground and run that gear at 3/4 throttel till I am on more solid ground in the Deuce.
