The G80 Locking rear diff is a score... although I suspect most of the late model mil-spec trucks have them.
They use a synthetic gear oil with no additive, Ive seen them lock, and not want to unlock, thats usually your clue that the fluid needs service
Its a true locker and not just a limited slip (spent a couple years working with GMC)
When they first came out in 99 or 2000 GM was the only full size truck with a true locking diff from the factory.

Only took about 5 minutes to install the new window track. Problem is the old crank handle won't work with the new plastic gear.

more research now.
Well, after doing a little more investigating. It seems that there are different window tracks.
1. With motor
2. With out motor(this is the one I thought was for manual operation):oops:
3. Manual. (just ordered this one now)

Spent Saturday riding around in M1075's LSSV. Man those trucks ride nice. Maybe someday you will get to enjoy yours. :naner:

With all this LSSV talk, I had to join in.. I fired mine up on Sunday and actually made use of the 24 volt side of things to give my Volvo a kick in the pants, as the batteries were low. A little NATO loving going on in this photo.

Will this be going to OH and back next month?
No Kenny, I will be driving the CUCV-II Crew Cab. Taking my son with me to help driving.

Still have some things I want to do to the LSSV before I put it on the road.
Going to get new Rotors, Calipers, Brakes all the way around and a one piece driveshaft made out in TX.

Just ordered new Rotors and pads, kit # K207336, Power Stop. $391.22 shipped.
New brake lines, Kit # 14182, Goodridge G-Stop. $141.05 shipped.

Going to order a custom one-piece, 5.0 x 125 HD Aluminum driveshaft this week from Driveshaft Specialist in Texas.
Should be around $850.00 shipped.
Might be able to pick it up also when I do the road trip to get the CUCV-II in San Antonio.
