The G80 Locking rear diff is a score... although I suspect most of the late model mil-spec trucks have them.
They use a synthetic gear oil with no additive, Ive seen them lock, and not want to unlock, thats usually your clue that the fluid needs service
Its a true locker and not just a limited slip (spent a couple years working with GMC)
When they first came out in 99 or 2000 GM was the only full size truck with a true locking diff from the factory.
