Has anyone tried the Rotella 5w/40 synthetic oil in the 6.2 J engine?I have a M1009 and though it starts fine it seems like the lighter weight oil would be better for the cold NE starts.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Standard petrolumn oil comes from the ground and are refined into oils, fuel, greases etc. They also don't have any waxes in them like a petrolumn base stock does.I have a question ive been meaning to ask,
What is the differnence between synthetic, and Non-synthetic?
Sorry newbie here. I'm going to be changing my oil in my M1009 soon. Is this the oil everyone is talking about?
Rotella 550019913 T Triple Protection CJ-4 15W-40 Motor Oil
and this filter?
Bosch D3510 Distance Plus High Performance Oil Filter
yes you can use 5w40. Everything Except$ is better than 15w40.Has anyone tried the Rotella 5w/40 synthetic oil in the 6.2 J engine?I have a M1009 and though it starts fine it seems like the lighter weight oil would be better for the cold NE starts.
the oil which is supposed to be for turbo is not special except Good flow at low temp. 5w40 is much more easier to startI have never used 5-40 other in my dmax in the winter. That oil is made for turbo diesels. Im my CUCV's I would run 15-40 in the winter and 30W in the summer. You can run a 10W-30 in the winter if you wish but if you do check the oil offten.
