The only three bolt I saw in a 1009 was in a truck that came from the forestry department and I dont think it was the stock converter.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
For the tachometer, search this forum for "Tiny Tach" (or google it). There's a company that makes an add-on tachometer that uses a sensor on an injector line to get a fairly accurate tachometer read out. I think they go for around $100 new. Seems pretty reasonable.
I had the exact same thing on one of my M1009s. The modulator and everything was fine but the vacuum line was completely gone. Very nice improvement for a couple dollars worth of vacuum line!Well, I found out what Rescue913's transmission problem was after I bought the M1009 from him indirectly (long story). Anyway, after taking off the air intake filter and housing, I found the original rubber hose that goes from the vacuum pump to the injector pump... it was the original hose, split in half, and disintegrating into powder. Shifts like a dream after replacing the vacuum modulator and vac. line!! Thanks for the tips everybody!! Saved me from pulling the tranny for a 3rd time!![]()
