M1009 Steering Damper PN

[T. Highway]

I picked up a GM steering damper (AC Delco 509-616) for a K5 and its 4+ inches shorter than the one I just pulled off the front end.

What are you guys running for a damper on a stock M1009?

I'm just running whatever was in the Rancho chart for an '84 K5.

The tough country one from Off Road Design. Definitely appears to be more robust than the stock one (which was leaking badly) I pulled off.

I went to AutoZone and picked mine up. Fit and worked good.

I found out the Chevy garage gave me a damper for a two wheel drive. The counter person didn't listen to what I was telling him.

I went to the NAPA store and purchased the Monroe part that you recommended.
